Detailed introduction to laser engraving technology:
1. Process definition and principles
Definition: Laser engraving is a process that uses numerical control technology and laser as a processing medium to mark, engrave, or cut the surface of a product.
Principle: It mainly relies on the high-intensity focused laser beam emitted by the laser, which instantly melts and vaporizes the material at the focal point, or exposes deep substances or 'marks' through the evaporation and chemical physical changes of surface substances.
2. Process type
Dot matrix engraving: Similar to high-definition dot matrix printing, by swinging the laser head left and right and moving up and down, lines composed of a series of dots are engraved to form a complete image or text.
Vector cutting: mainly operated on the outer contour line of graphics and text, commonly used for penetration cutting or marking.
3. Applicable materials and fields
Applicable materials: Laser engraving technology can be applied to almost all materials, including but not limited to bamboo and wood products, organic glass, metal plates, glass, stone, crystal, paper, two-color boards, aluminum oxide, leather, plastic, epoxy resin, polyester resin, and spray metal.
Application areas: Widely used in multiple fields such as hardware, plastics, electronic products, automotive parts manufacturing, medical device processing, etc.
4. Process characteristics
Advantages: fast marking speed, beautiful pattern, high resolution, not easy to wear and tear, good accuracy, low cost, safe and reliable, and strong anti-counterfeiting.
Disadvantages: It is mainly suitable for plates and pipes with low thickness, and has limitations in processing high hardness and low ignition point metal materials; High equipment costs and large one-time investment; At present, only two-dimensional plane scanning in the x and y directions can be achieved.
5. Examples of Technical Parameters
Although the specific technical parameters may vary depending on the equipment model and processing requirements, the following are some common examples of laser engraving machine technical parameters:
Carving speed: For example, IPS (inches/second) of 1000 indicates the speed at which the laser head moves, which affects production efficiency and cutting/carving depth.
Carving intensity: usually expressed in terms of current intensity. For example, when carving metal materials, the current intensity is generally above 10, while for non-metal materials, it is around 9.5-10.
Spot size: adjustable through lenses of different focal lengths, small spots are suitable for high-resolution engraving, while large spots are suitable for lower resolution engraving.
6. Application scenario examples
Character carving: For example, most of the text on the keyboard is achieved through laser engraving.
Pattern and pattern carving: Directly carving fine patterns and patterns on hardware products.
Laser drawing: Carving straight lines on hardware products.
LOGO and label carving: used for the identification and label production of various products.
In summary, laser engraving is an efficient, precise, and widely applicable surface treatment process that can meet various processing needs
